Here Goes Nothing!

I'm mostly intending the use of this blog for myself, as a way for me to keep track of all the fun discoveries I make along my journey of creativity and discovery.
In the last year my life has changed somewhat dramatically, the short version is I decided to go back to school, which involved working part-time. Along with the desire to educate myself in order to switch careers, I felt the need even more to be available to my new Kindergartner who was experiencing a lot of changes, too. Oh, did I mention I am a single Mom? :) When I say single Mom, I mean Dad still has visitation, and I currently have a very loving supportive (seriously, the man is a saint) boyfriend of almost three years. That being said, almost all of the parenting responsibilities like Doctors appointments, sick days, and paying bills falls on my shoulders. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have my "Village" to back me up. Family, friends, co-workers, these people have been the bread and butter to help me on my journey to success.
On this journey I have had to learn how to work my inner-frugal-domestic-Goddess, working on a tighter budget than ever before. During this time I have made such amazing discoveries!!! How pinching nickels and dimes here and there really adds up, I can crock pot one chicken and make it last for four different meals, to tap into community resources for entertainment, and how to treat my son on the cheap. I've grown closer to my family, and have learned so much about myself. There are moments of serious disbelief that I hadn't thought of some of these things before, ha ha.
I soon hope to be employed again full time because things are becoming more stable at home, and I have found a balance between homework and work work. Even working full-time I have every intention of sticking to my ultimate goals (another post ;-)).
Feel free to comment, just keep it to the point and positive. I'm not here to argue with anyone about my lifestyle, I'm here to gain knowledge and share my own.
